Marketing and Advertising, has seemed to
struck at least temporary gold for Vidalia
Onions.
Apparently Vidalia Onions have been selling
like hot cakes with Shrek's picture on them.
Kids have been eating them up, and parents
seem to be happy about it.
With things like this the tendency is to
label them "bad" or "good," and as tempting
as that might be, it might be wiser to
observe the effect and then interact with
it, instead of interacting with the perceived
label.
Kids are quite suggestible, and it might not
be something that will always bring something
welcome, however, there are times that the
effects would be more than welcome and helpful.
Another possible example of a child's suggestibility,
is this video. I have to wonder what prompted
the reaction. Not sure what I think of the use of
the camera at a time like that, however it is an
interesting video to view.
The video is interesting as well, because the
child is only three. Up until the age of eight
we are unable to filter things out of our mind
in the same way that we can after that time.
Who knows what caused this reaction, but it
would be interesting to consider how the effect
came to be so strong.
Once again, not necessarily good or bad, but
something to be mindful of and observe.
We're often hypnotized and don't know it, and
the process of "official hypnosis" is a way
we can de-hypnotize ourselves if a different
outcome is preferred.
In the meantime, be mindful that the winds of
association may carry you away before you even
know what has happened. Children are more
suggestible, but it isn't limited to a certain
age and besides, remember you were a child once.
What associations might you still be carrying
with you today?
