I found a paper today that had the
following poem on it by Roy Croft.
I thought it quite beautiful.
Perhaps you'll appreciate the
sentiment. I'd say it is a good
representation of what what a
healthy relationship provides
for oneself and his partner.
Apparently there is
a much longer version of the poem.
I love you
Not only for what you are,
But for what I am
When I am with you.
I love you,
Not only for what
You have made of yourself,
But for what
You are making of me.
I love you
For the part of me
That you bring out;
I love you for passing over
All my foolish and weak traits
That you can't help but see.
I love you for drawing out
Into the light my beauty
That no one else had looked
Quite far enough to find.
I love you.
