Lost Track of Original Meaning

In a previous entry I said how easy
it can be to sometimes lose track
of the origin of something.

Here is another example. Do you
know why brides wear white? You
may think you do, based on what
you've often heard. But here's
the "real" reason.

Perhaps this is a case where it
doesn't really matter that the
meaning has changed, just that
it has. Interesting to note,
none-the-less.
