    Without researching the man giving the quote, his statement makes me think he was happily part of a relationship once.

    I don't believe his statement to be 100% true, but humans being the social creatures that we are, a spouse or counterpart that can bring an equal amount to a relationship can certainly, positively add to a person's being. So I'll say Mr. Hill is about 80% true; I give him that much percentage because I'd favor the modifying influence of the "right" woman myself.
