Who wants to be hypnotized when they could be hypnotouched*?

(It's ALL) About Me (yeah, right!)

I am about many things...to box me into ONE would be a very big mistake.

People experience me as intelligent and offbeat, with a perspective that is NOT down the worn path.
Those who enjoy speaking with me quite frequently find things they didn't even know they were looking for.
If what I have to say seems interesting or might be helpful to you, let's talk!

There is a chat box in the right column,
feel free to chat with others when I am not there, or with me, when I am.
(If you're hearing *blips* while visiting, there is likely to be conversation going on at the time).

Is it wise?

Is it wise to come to hypnosis with a "do me"
attitude?

I just had a call in which someone told me
he wanted to be taken against his will. He
said he had never been hypnotized before.

Now...it is possible and, I am guessing, even
probable that he wanted me to "just plow"
into the fantasy. I, though, asked him if
he had any questions about hypnosis (talk
about what will put out some people's fire).

I asked because I believe that people should
always know what they are getting into. I
asked because I don't do the "fantasy" of
hypnosis; I DO REAL hypnosis. I find that
those who want the fantasy are some of the
worst callers for me, as they seek to "do"
the call, rather than having someone else
be their guide for the session. Nothing
wrong with the approach - just doesn't
work for me.

It is quite possible that his perceived
lack of awareness was all part of the "show."
However, it may also be possible that he
really just wanted me to "do" him for real,
regardless of what the outcome may be...
thinking, somewhat unrealistically (especially
if he has never been hypnotized before), that
he may know what to expect.

The fact is that if someone has no idea what
they are getting into for "real," it is
likely to be unwise to go to a hypnotist
with a "do me" attitude. I have seen people
come away from sessions with interests in
things that they really don't have an
interest in. I know this because given the
chance to get some perspective/the ability
to remove the suggestion(s), they opt to
go back to before the suggestion was affecting
them. If never given that chance, one would
never know where an experience might wind up.

Often I tell people to be careful. There are
some who will disappear on me only to come
back and tell me about their disastrous, or
nearly disastrous, experience with (an)other/
hypnotist(s).

I have to hope that people will always do what
is best for themselves, but sometimes it takes
a detour that shows them what can happen that
maybe they won't always be in a position to
make the choices that are needed. It is all
too easy to be caught up in the web of a "good"
hypnotist and their ability to guide what happens
by the suggestions they give.

Some people will think talking to a hypnotist
is no different than talking to any "regular"
person, and yet there is likely the hope that
perhaps something could happen that might in
some way fulfill on an expectation nestled
within a fantasy. To those people I would say,
"Be careful what you wish for...you might just
get it." The problem can sometimes be that the
reality of the fantasy is unable to measure up
to the fantasy that you have crafted within the
safety of your own mind. In the "real" experience,
there will be someone else guiding things -
someone that you will not be able to craft
in the way you have the character of your mind
and scenario.

Yes. It can be a wet blanket. And I am sorry
about that. At the same time, consider that
it might be a better option than a wildfire
out of control.
