I started to think about all of the resistance
I have met with from those who know what I am
doing lately. I found myself thinking about
human being's resistance to change.
I started to think about how perhaps the times
we are the most stuck we are also the most
resistant to making a change. It doesn't mean
we aren't "stuck" even when things seem to be
going "right," but we are just the most aware
of it when we aren't happy with how something is.
It got me thinking about some of the things
that I have observed in regard to hypnosis.
When someone is under the effect of a suggestion,
there is an automatic response that precipitates
an action. If you think about it, odds are much
of your life is lived that way. Some would
estimate that 80% of our life comes from our
unconscious. 80!
I am all for supporting a person's choices, so
this is not about making the best choices that
someone else thinks you can make, but rather
about you taking the time to question yourself
and your life and your choices. You learned
to appreciate all that you do. You can learn
to appreciate other things too, and in the
process you may just have to work counter to
the societal programming/hypnosis in the process.
Is it worth it? I guess only time will tell.
But I suspect you already know.
If you want any help looking at things, just
ask. Some people would say that what hypnosis
really is is something that de-hypnotizes you
from the suggestions that your life experiences
have already given you - and I think they might
just be on to something.
As always - interested in hearing your thoughts!
Have a great day!
