Big news yesterday: Many lipsticks have lead in them.
Apparently, to the FDA and cosmetics companies it is
no big deal because the amounts have been determined
to be within "legal" limits.
Lead in any amount is not supposed to be good for
anyone...so why in the world would we say it is OK?
Because it is consumed in such a small amount?
What about the small amounts allowed other places,
might that add up?
I just don't know when I hear things like this. I
had already been questioning my use of cosmetics for
other chemical reasons. I actually find it interesting
that lead is getting attention, while companies can
hide all kinds of chemicals in a "fragrance" ingredient
of their product.
I am still at the beginning stages of learning about
all of this stuff...but am not happy about it. I
share it with you, as I know that it might be something
of interest as some of you guys like to wear lipstick,
some of the women you care about like to wear lipstick,
and that means that when you kiss these women, it
is something you, too, are exposed to.
Consider checking things out for yourself, and see
what you think.
