Who wants to be hypnotized when they could be hypnotouched*?

(It's ALL) About Me (yeah, right!)

I am about many things...to box me into ONE would be a very big mistake.

People experience me as intelligent and offbeat, with a perspective that is NOT down the worn path.
Those who enjoy speaking with me quite frequently find things they didn't even know they were looking for.
If what I have to say seems interesting or might be helpful to you, let's talk!

There is a chat box in the right column,
feel free to chat with others when I am not there, or with me, when I am.
(If you're hearing *blips* while visiting, there is likely to be conversation going on at the time).

About Your Brain

I read an article from the NY Times today.
You can read it here.
(You may need to
join the site
to access it).

While reading,
I couldn't help but think
about how we don't need
"official" hypnosis
to mess with us,
we already do a
pretty good job ourselves.

It doesn't help
that people who see
what the article
explains happening -
they take advantage of it,
even if they don't
understand it.

I think we all have
an inner guidance system
that is quite good at
figuring out what to do
when we need to.

Unfortunately, in my opinion,
it is also the same system
that can be used to
manipulate and distort
and take advantage.

As I always say, and believe,
to be aware of what's possible
is a good part of being
protected, and making
conscious choices that
are to your benefit, and
protect you.

I would say with the
Presidential Elections coming
up, (among other reasons)
it would be something
to be mindful of.

I would also say that
checking your "facts"
before passing them
along as "fact" might
be a good idea. You'll
understand why I say that
after you have an
opportunity to read
the article.

Have a great weekend,
and thanks for dropping by,
Isis

A (Humorous) Tale of Two Brains

Men and Women are different.

Nothing new there.

People are always
attempting to explain it.

Anyone who can do it with humor,
and in a way that is helpful,
in my opinion,
is definitely a person to
consider listening to.

With that in mind,
I share the following video.
If you like his approach,
there are others on YouTube,
you can also view.

can you ever have TMI*?

*TMI - Too Much Information

Sometimes what you don't know, CAN hurt you.

This isn't anything hypnotic, or "mind" oriented,
or even erotic.

However, I just saw it, and feel like everyone
within the "sound" of my voice should know about it.

It's about tires. Apparently the industry has a
"dirty little secret", and what you don't know could
potentially be harmful.

I would like to think 20/20 is reputable, but I
suppose, as with anything, you should be responsible
for thinking things through before you decide
what to do with the information given.

Having information is the place to start.

In the meantime, I would check these links out:

Our Brain is an Amazing Place to Be

LOL...As I sit down to enter this entry,
I am smiling to myself.
If you have been reading my blog,
you have noticed that I address many things -
some not things you might
expect in a place like this.

You may have to sort through quite
a variety of entries
to see what is of interest,
however hopefully you've never been,
and never will be, bored.

In this case, I invite you to check out
Jill Bolte Taylor, who did a TED talk.
Have you, btw, heard of "TED"? The
site has so many talks, in a variety
of subjects. Once you see the video,
you may want to spend a little time
there.

It has been floating around for
a while, so maybe you have seen it?
Either way, you can view her talk HERE.

Have a great weekend!

Are You CRAVING ME yet?

Hmmmm....

I thought I would share this with you.

I often see news stories about what
robots can do for you.
Apparently the one discussed in the
video below can be a
surrogate girlfriend.

I don't know what I think about this,
as when people withdraw into themselves,
I am never certain about how good it is.

That is partially why I never want a
hypnotic world to be the ONLY one for
anyone that I talk to.
As good as any virtual world is,
isn't the real one so much better?

Granted, the "real" one comes with risks,
but isn't the potential reward worth
taking a chance?

PS I wonder what Reuters would
think (or will think if they can tell)
of their news story appearing on
a blog like mine...? Interesting
thought to consider, wouldn't you say?

The Effects of Recordings...are there any?

I had a caller recently ask about the effects of listening to recordings.

He often listens to recordings because they help him live out things he wouldn't otherwise do in "Real Life." He found himself wondering if he could find himself actually wanting the types of things he experiences in a hypnotic state.

The very fact that he was questioning it, I told him, was something to be aware of. There are all types of recordings, and there are all types of wordings for the recordings. Will a one time listening of a recording have any effect, much less an enduring one? Well...potentially, yes.

Does the potential matter? Read why below, and then you decide.

It is potentially Yes, because it may be something so in tune with you, that it was all you needed to move forward on that "thing." Yes, because if it's pleasureable, and encourages you to listen over and over, then one listen is as good as 3-5-10, or more because each listen will draw you closer to its desired effects. Yes, because even if you don't think it has an effect initially, you might find the feeling "creeping up" on you later. You would be surprised with the effect - it seemingly coming out of no where. You may even listen several times, thinking it's not working and then - WHAM! Yes, because your mind is an interesting place. Even the most carefully worded suggestions could have unintended effects by the time your mind is done with them. You might be surprised how people have told me that I told them something - something I know I never would say, but their mind somehow came up with it in the context of me.

Some recordings may be designed to have the effect only while listening. However, if it is something that your mind begins to associate with things/situations, etc outside of hypnosis, the fact that it is only in the recording might be a moot point.

Basically, it is always wise to play it as safe as possible. Another one of my callers told me that he had heard that you should jump into the middle of a recording and listen to it, before listening hypnotically. It's a worthy suggestion. However, as hypnosis (erotic hypnosis in particular) can be a rabbit hole, you'll never know where you might wind up when you indulge.

As always, feel free to contact me, and ask questions. I may not always have the answers - but I will get you thinking. Hmmm...once again, maybe not the best thing, given the erotic context, but trust me when I tell you that you will likely enjoy and trust your experience more, being an informed and questioning participant in the process.

Have a great night!

Is Hypnosis Real?

I often have someone asking me that question.

What many people don't realize is how we
are "hypnotized" all of the time
by the things we are exposed to.

Sometimes the very act of hypnotizing someone
formally can take away from the effect
because the person becomes guarded,
maybe even more aware than s/he normally would be.

There is someone named Derren Brown
who has created some very interesting
"experiments." I have to say that when I
first saw the following video, there was a part
of me that couldn't appreciate what he had done.

When I saw how it affected one person in particular,
I hoped that whatever had to be done afterward
to help him was done, because I cannot imagine
how he could have felt, given what happened,
and how he might have seen himself after the fact.

In addition, there is one person who says that
he is "a good person" when things turn out
the way that they did. To me, that almost implies
that the others who acted differently
were not/are not good people.

It is this type of thinking I think can be
problematic when people think about what they
could/would do and what would be deemed
"against their will," as compared to what
might actually be done, given the "right" influence.
If you wind up doing something you wouldn't
normally do, does that make you a bad person?

Unfortunately, I believe that many would likely
say yes, as an answer to that question. Even
if the person himself might disagree, or be
confused, undoubtedly there would be others
who would likely choose that judgment of the
situation themselves.

Of course, there are many pieces and parts to
this issue. The following video stands in
isolation. However, given the details, it is
a meaty thing to consider.

Check it out, and see what you come away with, and then I
invite you to write me to discuss this further
if you want to know more about what I think.

wondering...

what's on your mind today.

I wonder what brings you to me at
this moment in time.

You ever wonder about the things that drive you?

Interesting question, I would say.

Any way, the fact is
you ARE here, now,
so I thought I would give you
one of the results
of some pics I was playing around with
the last few days.
I hope
you like it.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Hypnosis and Sports and "Mind Power"

I just saw a video on YouTube that had
some interesting content.

It has someone's web address across the bottom
of the video. If you view the footage, please realize
that I am showing it to you out of interest in the
topic and know nothing of the person who is advertising
himself and his recordings.

If you decide that you want to know more, as always,
I recommend that you proceed with caution.

In the meantime, here is the video.

Sweet dreams,

One Word Makes All the Difference

Just received this joke today,
and thought I'd share.

It may serve as a reminder
to be certain about what you
think you hear,
and careful about how you say
what you do.

***

A woman answers the phone in a busy office,
"Good morning, Cleveland Parachute Club".
A startled man on the other end replied,
"Excuse me, but isn't
this the Cleveland Prostitute Club"?
"Oh no sir", came the embarrassed reply,
"this is the Cleveland Parachute Club".
"Damn!" said the man.
"I'm afraid I made a big mistake.
Last week your salesman called
and signed me up for two jumps a week".

Have a great evening!
